Living in a celebrity-obsessed world, we’re all familiar with famous people who make headline news for their whirlwind romances and love lives. But, how about the ones who have made multiple trips down the aisle, several times over? Here’s a look at some celebrity A-listers who top the list for being married the most times and a peek into their intertwined love lives.

Zsa Zsa Gabor: 9 Times Married

Starting off our list is the Hungarian- born actress, Zsa Zsa Gabor. The glamorous starlet, known for her penchant for millionaires, was married nine times. Notable exes include hotelier Conrad Hilton, Mercedes-Benz heir Jack Ryan, actor George Sanders and Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Terry Sqqvans. Not one to stay single for long, her shortest marriage lasted five months with her 1951 marriage to Conrad Hilton. Gabor was quoted in 1985, saying “I never hated a man enough to give him his diamonds back.”

Lana Turner: 8 Times Married

Next up is a 1940’s Hollywood starlet remembered for her roles in films like The Postman Always Rings Twice and Imitation of Life. Lana Turner is said to have had up to eight husbands during her lifetime. She married the first of many at only 19 years old when she wed bandleader Artie Shaw. Her longest union was with actor Lex Barker, who she was with for five years until her 1957 divorce filing.

Marilyn Monroe: 3 Times Married

At number three we have the epitome of a 1950’s sex symbol and Hollywood starlet, Marilyn Monroe. She was famously married three times starting with her first marriage to Yankee’s slugger, Joe DiMaggio. That marriage lasted only nine months, which was quickly followed by her marriage to playwright, Arthur Miller. That one lasted for four years until 1961. Her final husband was a British actor, Robert Slatzer, who she married in Mexican for just two days.

Elizabeth Taylor: 8 Times Married

Legendary British actress and animal rights activist, Elizabeth Taylor, was known for her classic beauty and movie star roles but her private life was just as glamorous. Taylor was married eight times (twice to Richard Burton) most famously to singer Eddie Fisher, who she swapped with Debbie Reynolds in a very public scandal of the time.

Mickey Rooney: 8 Times Married

Actor and entertainer Mickey Rooney was married an astonishing eight times. His first wife was actress Ava Gardner and his final wife, Jan Chamberlin, was nearly forty years his junior. His marriage to Chamberlin only lasted three weeks, earning Rooney the Guinness World Record for shortest marriage of all time.

Jerry Lee Lewis: 7 Times Married

The rebellious ’50s recording artist, Jerry Lee Lewis, was married seven times, beginning with a very young thirteen year old cousin in 1957. His most famous union was to his third wife and minor country singer, Myra Gale Brown. This took place when Lewis was 22 years old and Brown was just 13 (a fact he kept hidden from the public and failed to disclose during the press conference announcing their nuptials).

Ronald Reagan: 2 Times Married

Our last celebrity on the list is former President Ronald Reagan. Unlike the other stars, Reagan only married two times. His first was to the actress Jane Wyman and his second to Nancy Davis. Although his first marriage was to an actress, many of Reagan’s fondest memories and moments of his life were with his second wife Nancy. They remained devoted to each other until his passing.

Celebrities may come and go, but there are some who seem to make tabloid headlines with every marriage they enter into and others who simply seem to have the Midas touch when it comes to romance. From glamorous starlets to former presidents, they’ve all made multiple trips down the aisle and have had some truly unique love stories. Whether we’ll see another in the league of these successful (in both their love lives and professional lives) remains to be seen.
