Recently, Netflix added the classic movie Home Alone to its streaming library of films. The 1990 picture, which starred Macaulay Culkin as a young kid who’s accidentally left behind when his family goes on a holiday trip, is one of the most beloved classic films. After 30 years, it’s time to check in and see what all the Home Alone kids look like now that they are all grown up.

Macaulay Culkin

One of the most famous former child actors of all time, Macaulay Culkin, is easily the most recognizable name to come out of Home Alone. Culkin became a household name as the loveable Kevin McCallister in the two Home Alone films and many popular films throughout the 90s. After his role as a child actor, Culkin took a much needed break from showbiz and has since been more active as an adult.

The actor is now 38 years old and has recently appeared in the Canadian comedy series, Fukunaga, as well as the edgy web series DRYVRS with longtime friend and collaborator, Elijah Wood. Later this year, Culkin will appear in his first ever horror film, The Magic Bracelet. The film, which is being described as a “dark comedy,” will also feature Exorcism of Emily Rose’s Jennifer Carpenter and is set for a theatrical release.

Joe Pesci

Joe Pesci was one of the most important characters in the Home Alone films. As the bumbling burglar, Harry, Pesci helped create some of the classic slapstick comedy that the movie is so fondly remembered for. After two Home Alones, Pesci stepped away from the limelight to focus on music more than anything else.

Pesci did make the occasional movie appearance, most notably in My Cousin Vinny and Welcome to Collinwood, but lately he has been focusing on his Las Vegas residency. The singer/actor is now 76 and his shows at Harrah’s in Vegas will feature songs that he cut throughout his career.

Daniel Stern

Daniel Stern is another important character in Home Alone, as he starred opposite Pesci as the burglar, Marv. In real life, Daniel Stern is an actor and director and has had an active career since his time with the Home Alone films. Most of his work has been for television, with appearances in The Wonder Years, Law and Order, 30 Rock, and Justified, among others.

Most recently, Stern has been recurring on the hit show Shameless, as well as Hannah Simone’s sitcom, B Positive. The 66-year-old actor is also working on the television series Stan the Man, in which he’ll star opposite Parks and Recreation’s Rob Lowe.

John Heard

John Heard was the patriarch of the McCallister family in Home Alone, as well as its sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. The actor also had a prolific career as a child actor and with roles in After Hours and Big, and as the voice of The Polar Express.

Tragically, John Heard passed away in 2017 at the age of 72. He was found in his hotel room by a maid and, after an autopsy, the cause of death was determined to have been “blockage of the aorta due to hardening and thickening of the arteries.” Before his death, Heard had been active in television and independent films, most notably in the Showtime series Ray Donovan, in which he played Mickey Donovan.

Devin Ratray

Devin Ratray was the younger bother of Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin character and one of the most memorable characters of the Home Alone films. The actor is now 43 years old and has been in quite a few films since then.

He’s starred in films such as Prisoners, Nebraska, and Billionaire Boys Club and television series such as Better Things and Animal Kingdom. Most recently, Ratray has been recurring on the critically acclaimed The Other Two and the Netflix series, Love, Death, and Robots. The actor also plays in a band, Kingsley Flood.

Hillary Wolf

The next actor from Home Alone is Hillary Wolf, who played the protagonist’s younger sister, Megan. Wolf starred in the first Home Alone movie only and made the move into martial arts shortly after.

Wolf originally started taking kung-fu and kickboxing lessons for fun and eventually became one of the best in the world of competitive karate. She has won four national Karate Championships and participated in three World Cup Karate Championships. In 2017, she wrote a book called Bravest Warriors, which is a “guide to building confident and courageous kids.”

Michael C. Maronna

Michael C. Maronna was the older brother of Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone. Maronna has had a few small roles in television series since then, but most of his acting credits have been in short films.

He has been the lead of two short films: Michael C. Maronna in 2003 and The Rehearsal in 2019. Most notably, he has been featured in multiple television segments of his partner, Kat Dennings’, show, 2 Broke Girls, as well as in the series Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn.

Gerry Bamman

Gerry Bamman starred in Home Alone alongside Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as the character of Uncle Frank. Most recently, Bamman has been the star of Apple TV+’s Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, and voiced a character in the audiobook version of Michelle Obama’s Becoming.

The actor also appeared in several episodes of Daredevil, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Veep. The 71-year-old has been acting since the 80s and has had roles in Bachelor Party, Revenge of the Nerds, and as the voice of Zeus in Hercules.

Kieran Culkin

The last actor we’ll be discussing from Home Alone is Kieran Culkin, Macaulay’s older brother, who starred as Fuller, the oldest McCallister kid. Since Home Alone, Kieran has gone on to star in the hit show Succession, in which he plays the scheming Roman Roy.

Most recently, the 37-year-old actor was seen in the popular film Knives Out and appeared in the Hulu series, High Fidelity, as well as the new Apple TV+ show, Ted Lasso. The actor also has numerous other acting credits that span film, television, and theater, including appearances in Igby Goes Down, Fargo, and Peep Show.

The Home Alone Cast: A Reflection

It’s fascinating to look back 30 years to see where the Home Alone cast has ended up. All of these actors have been in the spotlight from young ages, with the youngest being five when the first Home Alone movie was released and the oldest being just 12. It’s incredible how being part of the iconic film, Home Alone, has affected them throughout all these years and they continue to leave us spellbound with their work. It’s truly amazing to see how much they have grown and changed – and will continue to do so – over the years.
